Summary

In this course, developed by CIVITAS ELEVATE with the HARMONY, MOMENTUM and SPROUT projects, participants will learn key approaches to plan for smart mobility solutions in their SUMPs.

This course helps to define the sometimes broad concept of Smart Mobility, with a view to concrete application. The course focuses on a few “hot topics” that are currently a prominent part of the development of Smart Mobility – namely: traffic management (the iTLC), and the self-driving car – walking through what to expect from these, and what to take into account when planning and implementing smart solutions.

This e-course helps you get started. We show how Smart Mobility can be defined, what is currently going on and how we can already use it in policy choices. The general aim of this course is to introduce you to new smart solutions and to support you in decision-making when planning for urban mobility challenges.

After attending this course, you will know the basic principles of the concept of Smart Mobility and are able to position Smart Mobility in the context of Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning.
