About the project

The HARMONY project aims to enable authorities to lead a sustainable transition to a new low-carbon mobility era by using spatial and multimodal transport planning tools. These tools will be integrated into a harmonised Model Suite that will help help local authorities update their Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) through a set of dedicated training sessions and recommendations.

Also known as, “Holistic Approach for Providing Spatial & Transport Planning Tools and Evidence to Metropolitan and Regional Authorities to Lead a Sustainable Transition to a New Mobility Era”, HARMONY gathers consortium members from 9 countries.

HARMONY will focus on six cities and metropolitan areas situated on six different TEN-T corridors. This way, it will cover a broad range of challenges and possibilities. Cities and regions have different characteristics in terms of size, demographics, geographic location, transport characteristics, infrastructure and availability of data and policy frameworks. This diverse context will also ensure the replicability of results.

Real-life testing will include demonstrations with drones and autonomous vehicles at the service of citizens’ needs. In addition, HARMONY will provide appropriate training for public officials in order to close the gap between understanding and future mobility planning.
