Summary

Transforms sustainable mobility into a sport, helping organisations reduce car use and CO₂ emissions through gamification and certified impact tracking.

MUV B Corp is a technological startup with a social mission that turns sustainable urban mobility into a sport. By gamifying everyday travel, it encourages people to adopt active and responsible habits while measuring their impact through certified CO₂ reduction (ISO 14064-2). Originating from the research project trafficO2 by PUSH in 2012, MUV B Corp gained international recognition through initiatives such as Google’s “30 Weeks” programme and the UN Habitat III Conference. Supported by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020
programme, the game was co-created and tested in cities including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Ghent, Helsinki and Palermo. Today, MUV B Corp helps companies and institutions achieve Scope 3 and car traffic reduction goals by promoting sustainable commuting and generating data for CSR reports and AI-driven mobility plans. The more users walk, cycle or use public transport, the more they win, making mobility both fun and impactful.

Good Example

The MUV game successfully motivated over 2,000 users in five european pilot cities (e.g., amsterdam, Barcelona) to collectively change more than 40,000 trips from private cars to sustainable modes like walking and cycling within one year, demonstrating a scalable model for behavioral change through gamification.
