ReportUIC2

This report, developed by the Urban Air Mobility Initiative Cities Community (UIC2), provides guidance on the roles and responsibilities of local and regional authorities in the implementation and governance of drone services and Urban Air Mobility (UAM).

The publication examines the regulatory framework, stakeholder responsibilities, governance models, implementation challenges, and policy recommendations for integrating drone operations into urban environments.

Drawing on experiences from European cities, it highlights the role of municipalities in urban planning, public engagement, infrastructure development and coordination with aviation authorities and industry stakeholders to support the safe, sustainable, and socially accepted deployment of drone-based services.
