New activities during Mobility Week

CIVITAS Initiative

During the anual European mobility week some activities have been organised by the Council of the City of Burgos: Meetings with children and teenagers explaining sustainable mobility and transport in schools and youth associations or leaflets about sustainable mobility. But also new experiences were given to the citizens of Burgos: Two clowns, talking about mobility, were explaining all citizens the differences between good and bad habits in mobility.

Trying to organise new events and new activities for the mobility week, Burgos moved mobility week to 25-29th September 2006 (same time as CiViTAS FORUM) and presented two clowns to explain good and bad habits about sustainable mobility and transport. They were explaining children in schools good mobility habits during the time the pupils were waiting to entry into schools. During the rest of time they were in many different parts of the city explaining the citizens the advantages of public transport or how to use the bicycle loam system. THe citizens enjoyed very much this new way of mobility marketing because the clowns wanted participation of everybody. Therefore this action was a great success.During the week, some activities with children were organised in order to involve them in good mobilityhabits. Some of the measures to be implemented in Burgos in the framework of CiViTAS-CARAVEL focus on mid and long term. That´s the reason why it is important to try to show these good habits to children.
