Koprivnica first city in Croatia with zero CO2 public transport
With the festive presentation of two electric mini-buses to the public in Koprivnica on 16 July 2015 the City of Koprivnica is proud to be the first city in Croatia with zero CO2 public transport.
The buses were purchased in scope of the CIVITAS DYN@MO project. Before this project there was no public transportation at all yet in Koprivnica and now it's planned that the usage of electric buses will be integrated into the regional public transport scheme run by the public transport provider Cazmatrans-Nova. The Plan for the introduction of public transport in the City of Koprivnica was developed by the company Promet Plus and the purchase of the buses from the Croatian company DOK-ING was co-financed by the Croatian Fund for energy efficiency and environmental protection.
The 100 kW engine buses have a capacity for 12 passengers, a range of 90-130 km and can reach a maximum speed of 90 km/h.
The presentation of the electric buses was attended by Mrs Vesna Zeljeznjak, Mayor of Koprivnica, deputy-mayors Ms Melita Samoborec and Mr Misel Jaksic, Mr Vjekoslav Majetic, CEO of DOK-ING, Mr Dragan Marinovic, CEO of Cazmatrans-Nova and Mr Ivan Simunec, member of Promet Plus management.
The buses will be tested in July and August, after which they will run on the experimental line, which connects the town centre to the University Campus and the commercial zone Radnicka Cesta.
