The GREEN-LOG project is launching a new e-learning course, “Delivering Zero-Emission Last-Mile Logistics”, offering a comprehensive introduction to the rapidly evolving field of sustainable urban logistics.
Running from 4 May to 12 June 2026, the course equips participants with practical knowledge, tools, and insights to support the transition towards greener last-mile delivery systems.
Learner benefits:
Drawing on the results of the GREEN-LOG Living Labs, the course combines policy context with real-world applications. Participants will explore tested solutions such as shared micro-consolidation centres, multimodal delivery models, AI-enhanced planning tools, and autonomous last-mile vehicles.
A focus on applied learning and real-life use cases ensures participants understand both opportunities and challenges, while open-source modelling tools support demand prediction, supply–demand matching, and operational optimisation.
In addition, participants will:
- Overview of the European policy framework for urban freight, with a focus on last-mile and on-demand logistics
- Practical skills in using open-source tools for urban logistics planning and optimisation
- Insights from real-world demonstrations and Living Lab results
- Opportunities to exchange knowledge with professionals across the urban logistics ecosystem
Course format:
The e-course includes video lectures, reading materials, and assignments, complemented by interactive webinars for direct engagement with experts.
Target audience:
City and regional authorities, logistics operators, policymakers, university students, and researchers interested in sustainable urban mobility.
About the course:
This course has been developed under the GREEN-LOG project. GREEN-LOG has developed innovative solutions for sustainable urban logistics, including Logistics-as-a-Service platforms, autonomous delivery vehicles and droids, cargo-bike-based micro-consolidation, and multimodal parcel deliveries integrating public transport. These solutions have been deployed and validated in five Urban Living Labs across Europe.
