Genoa Drinbus extension

CIVITAS Initiative

On January 16th, 2006 in Genoa, thanks to CIVITAS CARAVEL project, a new on demand flexible bus service (DRINBUS) has been implemented, in order to include new residential areas and a new urban railway station (San Quirico) to the existing system. An IVR system has been developed in order to let the user book the service 24 hours a day.

The IVR system is already functioning for the off-line reservation requests, that is the reservations that are not directly elaborated, but that are for example for the following week, while the IVR system for the reservation for the current day will be developed during 2006.On 25th of November, together with the final conference of SIDDHARTA project, the “Demand Responsive Transport Training Workshop” has been held.During the event, among others a representative of Krakow Public Transport Company described his vision of flexible services in Krakow. A good level of participation at the workshop has been registered and the participants were satiesfied with the quality of discussed arguments and the speakers' experience.Visit CIVITAS CARAVEL Genoa website
