Electric bike trial in Stockholm
Thanks to CIVITAS ECCENTRIC, anyone who lives or works in the project's Living Lab area in Stockholm, Årsta, can try out an electric bike as part of a one month trial.
Users who want to take part need only fill out a small series of e-questionnaires at the of the month. The first cyclists hopped on the electric bikes in May 2017; 17 bikes are currently being tested. Electric cargo bikes will be added to the trial in the spring.
The trial corresponds to the ECCENTRIC project measure “offering a test fleet of e-bikes and cargo bikes”, which has the dual aim of encouraging more citizens to enjoy the benefits of cycling and increasing the number of electric bikes in the Årsta district by 300.
After their month of trying the bikes, each triallist is offered a 10% discount on future purchases of electric bikes and electric cargo bikes.
The partners helping to implement the measures are Cykelkonsulterna, a local cycling consultancy.
