Lancashire County Council and partners Preston City Council, South Ribble Borough Council, Preston Bus and TTR organised a CIVITAS SUCCESS seminar on the 1st October 2008. In the morning session, starting at 9:15am for coffee, details of some of the measures undertaken in the Preston and SouthRibble area as part of the CIVITAS programme were presented, while the afternoon focused on the TravelSmart programme that has been undertaken in areas of Preston, South Ribble and Lancaster.One of the UK’s largest travel behaviour change programmes took place in Lancashire over the previous two years. Since spring 2006, the TravelSmart scheme has offered tailor-made advice and support on walking, cycling and public transport to 50,000 households.
