About the project

The goal of ReVeAL (Regulating Vehicle Access for Improved Liveability) is to add Urban Vehicle Access Regulations (UVAR) to the standard range of urban mobility transition approaches in cities across Europe. The ReVeAL project looks at this hot topic for the first time since the CURACAO project.

The overarching mission of the project is to enable cities to optimise urban space and transport network usage through new and integrated packages of urban vehicle access policies and technologies. Such policies can lead to fewer emissions, less noise and improved accessibility and quality of life, which especially benefit the people living in these cities. These policies can also encourage more sustainable transport choices, enabling cities to become more liveable, ultimately healthier, and more attractive for every member of society.

To this end, ReVeAL combines conceptual work and case studies with hands-on UVAR implementation in six pilot cities, as well as systematic stakeholder interaction through professional communication activities.
