Oslo (Norway)

Oslo, Norway's capital, is a frontrunner in sustainable urban mobility, aiming to become the world's first emission-free city by 2030. The city has significantly advanced electric vehicle (EV) adoption, with EV sales surpassing those of internal combustion engine vehicles in 2024. Oslo's public transport system is transitioning to full electrification by 2028, including buses, ferries, trams, and metros.

The goal is for 60% of the bus fleet to be fully electric by 2025. To reduce private car usage, Oslo has implemented car-free zones in the city center, expanded pedestrian and cycling infrastructures, and introduced congestion pricing. The city also promotes shared mobility solutions, such as city bikes, to enhance sustainable transportation options.
