Lund (Sweden)

Lund, a city in southern Sweden's SkƄne County, is renowned for its commitment to sustainable urban mobility. The city has implemented the "LundaMaTs" (Lund Environmentally Adapted Transport System) plan, aiming to promote sustainable transport modes such as walking, cycling, and public transit.

This strategy has led to a significant increase in cycling, with over 260 km of dedicated cycle paths and bike lanes, and approximately 43% of urban journeys made by bicycle. In 2020, Lund expanded its public transport options by introducing a tram network connecting key locations, including the central station and university areas, enhancing mobility and reducing reliance on private vehicles. The city is also driving the "Climate Neutral Lund 2030" initiative, allocating additional funding to accelerate climate-positive projects, including those targeting sustainable mobility.
