Cycling in Europe – The Civitas Forum 2013 shown many examples

Press Release or Kit

Although numbers of cyclists are increasing throughout Europe, experts note that besides topography issues, one of the most popular arguments against cycling, especially in extremely hot or cold climates, is... weather! However, as sustainable transport specialists who have gathered for the annual CIVITAS forum in Brest say, numerous examples from cycling countries show that climate should NEVER become an argument against cycling. In Scandinavia, for example, often with support from municipalities, people have found ways of cycling to work even with temperatures as low as minus 30.

What are the most astonishing practices and experiences that European transport exports have gathered to discuss? What can Lithuanian cities learn from them? And what are the benefits of cycling?
