CIVITAS Summer Course in Trnava: Fresh Ideas for Urban Mobility

Last week, 23 mobility professionals and students from across Europe gathered in Trnava, Slovakia, for the CIVITAS Summer Course. Over 3.5 days, they explored real urban mobility challenges.
The course kicked off with a warm welcome from Trnava’s dedicated mayor, Peter Bročka, followed by a walking tour that set the tone for a week of hands-on learning and collaboration.
Participants immersed themselves in the city’s mobility issues; ranging from improving cycling safety and promoting active travel to tackling optimal car speeds and enforcement.
Guided by experts and supported by the City of Trnava team (Michal Ďurta, Peter Roszár), the course offered a rich mix of theory and practice.
It concluded with participants presenting innovative mobility solutions to city officials, some nearly ready for implementation. The diverse mix of backgrounds and expertise made for a truly enriching exchange.
A big thank-you to the City of Trnava for hosting this inspiring and energizing week!
Inspired? Stay tuned for the next year's opportunity to join the CIVITAS Summer Course.
