During the annual CIVITAS Forum in Parma, from 1-3 October 2024, the CIVITAS Educational Network convened with 15 participants, including representatives from educational institutes and public organizations, alongside Octavia Anamaria Stepan, Sector Head at CINEA (European Commission). The meeting, chaired by Dr. Nina Nesterova, featured project presentations by CIVITAS projects MOVE21 and SCALE-UP. Key discussions focused on integrating project deliverables into educational curricula, enhancing student involvement in project development, and the role the Educational Network can play in these efforts. Participants emphasized the need for closer collaboration between universities and projects, exploring avenues like the Erasmus program to facilitate student contributions. The meeting concluded with a commitment to explore strengthening cross-sectoral practices and fostering connections to enhance educational outreach.

This group meets to stimulate the involvement of youth within projects, facilitating smoother integration and influence between education, research projects, and industry. The group also explores how youth can become more involved in CIVITAS activities and how this can be facilitated through educational curriculums. Additionally, youth participation is included in the Educational Network meeting and the CIVITAS Forum, where they provide critical input and feedback on content topics addressed during these gatherings. The importance of youth input is emphasized, highlighting that what they view as important and pressing issues should also be addressed.

To further this mission, the group actively seeks to integrate youth perspectives into various projects, ensuring that their voices are heard and valued. By involving youth in these discussions, the group aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application, fostering a more dynamic and responsive approach to urban mobility challenges. The inclusion of youth in the Educational Network meeting and the annual CIVITAS Forum underscores the commitment to harnessing their insights and energy, which are crucial for addressing contemporary issues and shaping future strategies.
