CiViTAS CARAVEL Telematics Workshop in Stuttgart
The new Integrated Traffic Management Centre (ITMC) in Stuttgart hosted over 30 participants at the CiViTAS CARAVEL Telematics Workshop in Stuttgart.
The Integrated Traffic Management Centre (ITMC) in Stuttgart with its event-oriented traffic management, which was implemented within the CiViTAS CARAVEL project, is operating very successful since May 2006. Now it was the perfect location to host the CiViTAS CARAVEL Telematics Workshop, which took place on Tuesday, February 13th, 2007 in Stuttgart.In the first part of the workshop, lectures from the four CiViTAS CARAVEL cities Burgos, Genoa, Krakow and Stuttgart reported about experiences in the field of telematics within the CiViTAS CARAVEL project. The guided tour through the facilities of the Integrated Traffic Management Centre (ITMC) and the additional site visit at the Traffic Control Centre of the Stuttgarter Straßenbahnen AG (SSB AG), the local public transport operator, in the second part rounded up the theoretical knowledge gained before. The workshop showed clearly that an Integrated Traffic Management Centre is a necessary precondition to ensure safe and sustainable mobility in large cities.All Presentations and more Photos see here: Workshop Site
