Youth on the move (22/05/2011)

BRNO, Belgium

OtherCIVITAS Initiative

The Youth Congress took place in the city of Brno, from 24 to 26 May 2011. 40 students from all five CIVITAS ELAN cities (Brno, Ghent, Ljubljana, Porto and Zagreb) came together to discuss their opinions, ideas and recommendations on sustainable urban mobility.

First the students were analysing the mobility situation in their home town (e.g. by producing video clips) and then they came to Brno and participated in the so called “Mobility Treasure Hunt”. This was organised as a competition where the students needed to travel to five check points all over the city by using different sustainable transport modes, e.g. tram, bus and ships. This Mobility Treasure Hunt was an interesting and enjoyable experience for all participants and it ensured a detailed testing of the mobility situation in Brno in a non traditional way.

Finally the students were presenting their experiences and expectations towards sustainable urban mobility to the experts of CIVITAS ELAN.

Have a look at the video and pictures of the event.
