After the successful events in Rome and Oslo, hackathonians will now be heading to the city of Mannheim between 12-13 March 2024. That Mannheim is one of the cities that was awarded the EU Mission Label for Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities makes the location all the more significant.

The UPPER Hackathon Mannheim 2024 is a 2-day in-person event that will bring together various actors to brainstorm and develop innovative solutions to influence the next generation of public transport, focusing on three local challenges:

  • Creating an attractive and climate-resilient public transport stop
  • Developing additional data-based use-cases to improve passenger experience and promote the use of public transport
  • Improving public transport services

The UPPER project, along with the Youth For Public Transport (Y4PT) Foundation, is looking for bright minds who could help make cities more sustainable, benefiting all citizens.

Start-ups, students and young professionals with an interest in technology, design, creativity, innovation, digitalisation, and business development, and who can contribute to improving mobility for the public are all invited to participate.

Learn more about the hackathon here.

Don't forget to register by March 10th!
