START Final Conference

Traffic congestion and its impact on the environment is an increasing challenge in most European cities of today. Urban freight and logistics becoming important elements of the overall urban planning. New city logistic schemes and more innovative forms of collaboration in combination with restrictions and incentives form the basis of the 3-year-START-project (Short Term Actions to Reorganize Transport of goods).The START Final Conference was organised in collaboration with the CIVITAS CATALIST project and did not only present recommendations from the five START partner cities but also discussed city logistics and public-private collaboration in a wider perspective.
