EcoMobility World Festival 2017 (1 to 31 October 2017)

The EcoMobility World Festival concept is initiated by ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability. It is a month-long mise-en-scène of future urban mobility in a real city, with real people, in real time. During the EcoMobility World Festival 2017, the historic Hamasen neighbourhood in Kaohsiung City will set as a demonstration area which will see its streets transformed into an ecomobility-friendly environment. Throughout the entire month of October 2017, the neighbourhood will be closed to private fossil-based vehicles to allow for more ecomobile form of mobility i.e. walking, cycling, public transport etc.

During the month long Festival, there will be an EcoMobility Exhibition as well showcasing the most innovative ecomobile transport vehicles and infrastructure. Other programs will also be organised in conjunction with the Festival such as cultural tours, technical tours, workshops, etc. together with our endorsing partners.

EcoMobility World Congress 2017 (2 to 4 October 2017)

The EcoMobility World Congress 2017 is a key part of the Festival which will also take place at Kaohsiung city. The theme this year is "livable, shared, and intelligent", which will explore solutions to make cities more livable and mobility in cities more accessible. In this Congress, we will bring together mayors; heads of transports; international and local transport experts; representatives from multilateral development banks, agencies, research institutes, business and city representatives together.
