CIVITAS Politicians' Forum 2018

FOLKETS HUS UMEå, Sweden

City Plans

Politicians from CIVITAS Forum Network member cities are invited to attend this year's Politicians' Forum, which is being held at the upcoming CIVITAS Forum in Umeå.

Taking place from 09:30 to 12:00 on 20 September, the meeting will bring together senior officials from local authorities across Europe who are leading the way in advancing sustainable urban mobility.

Panel discussions and conversation tables give delegates the chance to interact and exchange experiences with fellow politicians on this year's meeting topic “Citizens' involvement, urban mobility, and politics”.

Some of the questions to be explored include:

  • How can involving citizens generate public support for more 'contentious' mobility measures, such as urban vehicle access regulations?
  • Can co-creation help you advance your political visions?
  • How will new mobility game changers support your sustainability goals?

The issues raised at the Politicians' Forum are brought to the CIVITAS Political Advisory Committee and feed into their work representing the interests of local governments in transport policy development in the EU.
