The Conference addressed the question to what extent CIVITAS I cities have succeeded in achieving a radical change in urban transport through the combination of technology and policy based instruments and measures. This was the main goal of CIVITAS since it started in 2002. The event is open (unlike CIVITAS Forum, which is restricted just to CIVITAS Forum members) to experts from authorities, public transport operators, consultancies and industry and placed the accent on the results achieved by the CIVITAS Initiative and presented participants with the chance to informally discuss technical aspects of policy implementation directly with the CIVITAS I experts.
