2nd Civitas Mimosa Urban Orienteering Contest
FUNCHAL, HISTORICAL ZONE, BelgiumOtherCIVITAS Initiative
Following the highly successful organization of the first Funchal Urban Orienteering Contest, the City Hall held the second edition of this event, in a different area of the city. This event was carried under measure 4.1 (CMF: Awareness campaigns) and was designed for the general public of all ages, it was for people from all walks of life including professionals. By exposing people to the pleasures of walking or running, showing them the city 'on-foot' and demonstrating public transport opportunities we aimed to promote sustainable mobility, using ecologically sustainable transport and public transport. Hence we promoted change of travelling habits and improved other forms of active mobility such as walking. Mobility is a social responsibility for all of us, to which it is important that all citizens contribute, so that the city can achieve a life-style that conforms to the principles of sustainable mobility.
