Žilina (Slovakia)
Žilina is thanks to the geographic location an administrative, economic, transport and cultural center of northwestern Slovakia, one of the largest cities in the Slovak Republic. It is the seat of the authorities of the Žilina self-governing region, one of the eight regions of the Slovak Republic. The population of the city is 83 280 inhabitants. The town of Žilina lies in the valley of the river Váh in the Žilina basin, at the confluence of the Váh river with rivers Kysuca and Rajčianka. With the current traffic load of Žilina, the city's goal is to create options and measures to reduce emissions in the city while supporting alternative and clean modes of transport. Žilina focuses on measures to promote sustainable urban mobility, including cycling, pedestrian traffic, electro-mobility development, parking support etc.
