Puerto Del Rosario (Spain)

Puerto del Rosario (Port of the Rosary) is the capital of the island of Fuerteventura, one of the Spanish Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean. Once known as Puerto de Cabras (Goat Harbour), the town developed its transport system - also for attracting more tourists.

With a population today of around 28,360, Puerto is located in an agricultural and industrial area. Its tourism potential remains undeveloped, although the main streets and harbour promenade have recently been rebuilt.

Currently there is no data readily available on Puerto del Rosario’s modal split, and negligible data is available via the most readily accessible sources concerning the mobility measures or plans it has put in place, the challenges it faces in this regard and the partnerships undertaken to this end.
