Parma is a city located in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, southeast of Milan. The city is famous for its rich culinary culture, architecture, and, in recent years, pothe advancements it has made in recent years in sustainable urban mobility. The city has implemented a sustainable urban transport policy and plan since 1999, and maintains a modal split of 40% of those choosing to walk, bicycle or take public transportation. Implemented mobility measures include the promotion of local public transport, mobility management activities in schools that aim to reduce car travel, the introduction of an intelligent transport system, the installation of park and ride facilities, and the establishment of bicycle and car sharing schemes.

Parma is the host of the CIVITAS Forum 2024.
