Fushë-Arrëz (Albania)
Fushë-Arrëz is a municipality and town in Shkodër County, northwestern Albania. The municipality of an area of 540.42 km2 consists of the administrative units of Blerim, Fierzë, Iballë, Qafë-Mali with Fushë-Arrëz constituting its seat. According to the national census, there are 2,513 people residing in Fushë-Arrëz and 7,405 in Fushë-Arrëz Municipality. The name Fushë Arrëz comes from the Albanian language and translates to English as “Field of nutlets”.
Fushë-Arrëz's key mobility challenges stem from its large rural population and poor infrastructure connecting different population centers. Public transportation is limited in scope and timing, making it difficult for many residents who lack cars to access amenities and social services.
In the future, the Municipality hopes to improve road quality to better connect rural residents and offer expanded public transportation.
