Ankara (TĆ¼rkiye)

Ankara, formerly known as Angora, is the national capital and is located in the northwestern part of the country. Ankara is the administrative center of TĆ¼rkiye and a huge university town, meaning that it has a large population of government workers and university students. In addition, the city has a symbolic significance for the secular Turks, as it is where a new era for the Turkish people began. It is a symbol for independence, development and Western values.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality is carrying out the "Smart Ankara Project", which will ensure the creation of a sustainable transportation plan in the Capital and the integration of the city with other transportation points.
