Applications are now being accepted for the CIVITAS Young Champion Award! Apply by 1 July 2022 (extended deadline!).
The CIVITAS Young Champion Award aims to honour a young person who is actively involved in activities related to sustainable urban mobility, and is enthusiastic about the CIVITAS Initiative and the promotion of its values. This award is a direct response and celebration of the European Year of Youth in 2022.
All interested individuals aged between 18 and 29 who legally reside in any EU Member State are applicable to apply to the award. Although the definition of young people typically includes those between 15 and 18 years-old, for the purpose of this competition, minors are not be eligible. Only one submission per person will be allowed.
The winner of this award will receive paid travel and accommodation to attend the Urban Mobility Days 2022 in Brno. During the CIVITAS Awards Ceremony, the CIVITAS Young Champion will be called on stage to receive a customised certificate, signed by a high-level representative of DG MOVE, recognising their commitment to sustainable urban mobility.
Applications are evaluated in two stages, first by a pre-selection committee comprised of CIVITAS ELEVATE members, and second by public voting via social media.
Key dates in the application process include:
1 July 2022 - (extended!) deadline to submit applications
8 July 2022 - announcement of three finalists
18 July 2022 - deadline for finalist 1-minute video submissions
21-28 July 2022 - social media voting on video submissions
29 July 2022 - finalists and winner notified of result
20 September 2022 - announcement of winner at CIVITAS Awards Ceremony 2022
