Summary

This webinar has been shared by PoliVisu and is available to view on-demand to give an overview of various data challenges experienced by cities, with a particular focus on three PoliVisu pilots: Ghent, Mechelen and Issy-les-Moulineaux. During discussions, representatives of local and regional administrations speak about the issues they faced and outline how they were able to address them using the PoliVisu solution.

Good Example

The webinar included case studies from

  • Issy les Moulineaux (France):  A high density area located on the outside of Paris.  Many cars just travel through the area causing congestion and problems for the locals. Issy wanted to visualise the nature of the problem to be able to come up with policy solutions.
  • Gent (Belgium): This metropolitan city did not know where their student population lived and so could not deliver services in the best locations.  Gent used PoliVisu to experiment with multiple data sources to find out the location of the young people.
  • Plzen (Czech Republic): A low density city focused on traffic predictions for road constructions in the city analysing what timings and diversions would not cause negative impact.
