Zagreb joins World Health Week 2010

CIVITAS Initiative

World Health Week 2010 focused on urbanisation and health. The global goal of the campaign was: 1,000 cities open up public spaces to health, whether it be activities in parks or closing off parts of streets to motorised vehicles.

The City of Zagreb marked Health Week from 7 - 14 April 2010, with numerous activities. CIVITAS ELAN was actively involved in several of them. On Saturday 10 April, from 10,00 - 13,00 a workshop for children was organised in the CIVITAS ELAN Info-point led by a professional educator. The programme included playing, talking and drawing on the topic Why tram and bike are better than car? CIVITAS ELAN had a promotional stall in historic park Zrinjevac in the centre of the city on Sunday 11 April, together with other organisations and projects related to health issues. The peak of CIVITAS ELAN participation in the Healthy Week was round table organised together with the project PRESTO in collaboration with Croatian Healthy Cities Network and the Technical Museum. The topic of this round table was „Contribution of projects CIVITAS ELAN and PRESTO to health“.
