Workshop: Effective solutions for green urban transport, 13 September in Brussels. Register now!

CIVITAS Initiative

Local authorities’ transport experts and others in the field of sustainable mobility are invited to join  the very first workshop in the “Effective solutions for green urban transport – Learning from CIVITAS cities” series. CIVITAS cities will share results from the innovative urban transport solutions they tested.

This showcase event will take place on 13 September, 2011 in Brussels in parallel with the ICLEI European Convention 2011: Cities in Europe 2020 - Enhance Sustainability Now! The workshop is generously hosted by the Representation of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen to the EU. Participants will learn how to replicate sustainable mobility success stories in their city. They will gain insights into what pioneering cities have achieved, what challenges they have faced and what lessons they have learned. The workshop will specifically focus on two thematic building blocks of CIVITAS, namely: • Collective passenger transport; and • Safety and security. The workshop will be an interactive mix of presentations and discussions with participants encouraged to ask questions and engage with the speakers. The event is free of charge and open to representatives of cities, public transport operators, research programmes and others working in the field of sustainable urban mobility. Places are limited, so be sure to secure yours by registering quickly. For more information and to register for the workshop, please visit our Events page or contact workshop [at] civitas [dot] eu. A preliminary programme, including hotel and travel information, can be downloaded here.
