Training workshops on Intermodal Infrastructure Planning in Porto
Two CIVITAS ELAN training workshops will take place in Porto (Portugal) on 25 and 26 March 2010. The first will be on Citizen Engagement in the process of Intermodal Infrastructure Planning, while the second will focus on planning, design and management of transport interchanges: good practices.
The workshop on 25 March will focus on Citizen Engagement in the process of Intermodal Infrastructure Planning. The workshop is a part of the measure in which all CIVITAS ELAN cities (Brno, Gent, Ljubljana, Porto and Zagreb) work together and share their knowledge and experience in the field of intermodal infrastructure planning.The workshop is divided into two parts. In the first part, concrete examples of the citizens’ involvement in transport project planning from CIVITAS ELAN cities - Brno and Gent - will be presented. The second part will be interactive and will give guidance on preparing a citizens’ engagement strategy. Participants will be split into groups to work on the strategy for the concrete measure. The results will then be discussed.On 26 March the workshop will be on Planning, Design and Management of Transport Interchanges: Good Practices. International specialists in the field will share their knowledge and expertise with the engineering community, and will discuss the behaviour and performance of existing solutions and their potential improvements.It will include a number of lectures concerning Transport Interchanges. The following topics will be examined: Planning; Design; Perceived Security; Operational Management, Park&Ride and a presentation of Lisbon Transport Interchange (Gare Intermodal de Lisboa).The registration form and programme are available in the CIVITAS Events section of the website.
