Stuttgarts Carpooling service “Pendlernetz Stuttgart” is supplemented by an event oriented carpooling feature.

CIVITAS Initiative

Let´s drive together to the soccer match! This environmental friendly way of mobility is in the Stuttgart region now much easier to realise since the Pendlernetz Stuttgart, an internet-based platform of carpooling, offers a new feature especially for big events. This new feature was offered to the public the first time for the top game of the German 1st Soccer-League (Bundesliga) on Saturday 10th, 2007 between VfB Stuttgart and Werder Bremen, leading together the 3rd and the 2nd in the present round.

With the new feature, event-oriented carpooling, the organisation of car-pools to big events in Stuttgart gets much easier. This new service is especially addressed to the visitors of home matches of VfB Stuttgart, Stuttgarts soccer team playing in the 1st Bundesliga . Since around 50.000 visitors are expected to each match, the travel demand related to one location at the same time is very high. Visitors get now the opportunity to reach the stadium fast, cheap and in an environmental friendly way by using the new event-oriented carpooling feature. This new feature is provided by Pendlernetz Stuttgart and available on the internet. The Stuttgart car-pooling system aims to organise car-pools from door to door, especially for commuters in the Stuttgart Region. The service, which itself is free of charge, is provided by Pendlernetz Stuttgart. New features such as the event-oriented carpooling are implemented within CiViTAS-CARAVEL. The on-line car-pooling service Pendlernetz Stuttgart is being operated by the Stuttgart Mobility Centre, with the aim to improve the mobility of all citizens and visitors of the city and the region of Stuttgart.
