Promotion campaign for biofuels in Iasi

The municipality of Iasi has organised a promotion campaign to make citizens aware of the benefits of using biofuels instead of conventional fuels for public transport.

The campaign ran from September 2010 and May 2012. Promotion materials explained what alternative fuels are, who can use them and what benefits they have. A total of 5,000 leaflets were handed out and a promotional event titled "Through the city without my car" was organised by the City Hall of Iasi. The benefits of alternative fuels were also presented through direct communication with citizens. They were at the same time also actively encouraged to use alternative means of transport when moving around the city. During meetings at schools and universities, students were informed about alternative fuels and two workshops targeted stakeholders and NGOs. In the future, Iasi will organise other promotion campaigns to sustain biofuels use and ecological means of transport.
