Project Coordinator visited Burgos to promote Sustainable Mobility
The CIVITAS-CARAVEL Project Coordinator Vito María Contursi from Genoa explained to all local media how the City of Burgos has been developed during the project life many efforts about mobility and transport. At the same time, he announced the IV CIVITAS FORUM in Burgos next September.
Vito Contursi participated also in a round table with José Holguín, Associated Professor of Renssealer Polytechnic Institute from NY (USA), Diego Fernández Malvido, Youth Councillor of the City of Burgos and Luigi del´Ollio, Professor of the Polytechnic Universitiy of Burgos, moderated by José María Diez, the local CIVITAS-CARAVEL Dissemination Manager of Burgos.Vito explained the great effort in Burgos in the implementation of the bicycle renting system, called “BiCiBUR”. He also talked about last measures implemented in Genoa, and explained the new experimental parking occupation detection system. José Holguín talked about experiences in goods distribution in the city of New York. He explained that he was surprised about the good cooperation inbetween European cities i.e. in the CIVITAS-CARAVEL project.Fernández Malvido put the effort in explaining the new bicycle renting system BiCiBUR, completely developed by the City of Burgos.Finally Luigi del´Ollio explained the good collaboration between the local administrations (Council) and the University of Burgos.
