Municipality of Aalborg has on May 21, 2008 submitted notice for publication to EC regarding prequalification for restricted tender. The ARCHIMEDES Project is a collaborative project proposed under the Civitas Plus Call, launched as part of the first call of the cooperation specific programme of fp7, co-financed jointly by the energy and transport themes of fp7.ARCHIMEDES is an integrating project, bringing together cities across Europe to address problems and opportunities for creating environmentally sustainable, safe and energy-efficient transport systems in medium-sized urban areas. this is done within the current European policy context, through lead city sites of Aalborg (Denmark), Brighton and Hove (United Kingdom), Donostia - San Sebastian (Spain), Iasi (Romania), and the learning city sites Usti Nad Labem (Czech Republic) and Monza (Italy). The city of Aalborg is acting as co-ordinator of Archimedes. In total 16 partners from the cities are involved.The ARCHIMEDES Project offers a significantly-sized integrated project, with well-planned management structures, sufficient deliverables for monitoring progress, ensuring quality of work and providing results. It is a four year project with estimated eligible costs of 26,1 mio. €, and a requested contribution from EC of 16,05 mio. €The Consultancy Services consists of assistance to the Project Co-ordinator Municipality of Aalborg regarding Project Management in ARCHIMEDES, which is divided into four themes:Planning for project structure and managementCoordination of project activitiesDay-to-day project management and communicationMonitoring and reporting to the European Commission The consultant shall in the role of Project Manager:Assist with the development of a detailed work planAssist with the development of the Project HandbookSupport the coordinator and other beneficiaries with the management of the project on a day-to-day basisSupport the coordinator in his task to monitor project progress (objective achievement, delivering, resource use)Assist the partners to prepare progress reports, cost statements and other deliverablesCollate process data for input to the evaluationSupport the project coordinator in organising project consortium meetingsSupport the project coordinator in liaising with Support Actions in conjunction with the Technical, Evaluation, Dissemination and Training & learning ManagersThe notice will be published on TED — http://ted.europa.eu — with the title: DK-Nørresundby: Development Consultancy Services (reference number 2008-053734).Time limit for receipt of requests to participate is June 24, 2008, at 10.00 o’clock.
