New electric 'shared' car in Ghent

CIVITAS Initiative

A new electric ‘shared’ car is in use in Ghent. It is the second model, as the first model (Tazzari Zero) did not meet the necessary standards. Cambio Flanders (the Flemish car sharing company), in cooperation with the city of Gent, started a pilot on ‘electric car sharing.

Gathering expertise and knowledge is one of the main goals, together of course with environmental considerations. If the pilot project turns out to be successful, then Cambio will consider running electric cars in their fleets. To ensure that people can drive the electric car in a safe and proper way, a test group will take the to the wheel for the first couple of months. If the pilot project is considered to be a success, all customers can use this nice little ‘green’ car and share their experiences. Cambio users are already ecologically aware and want Cambio to be a pioneer in decreasing ecological foot and tyre prints. With this new car, Cambio wants to decrease its ecological tyre print even more and experience an alternatively driven car for the very first time.
