New car sharing parking areas in Genoa
During October 2005, thanks to CIVITAS CARAVEL project, new Car Sharing parking places have been inaugurated in the eastern part of the city of Genoa.In particular, four new parking places are operating in the CARAVEL area.Up to now, the Car Sharing service is available in 15 areas, not only concentrated in the city centre, but also in the eastern and western parts of the city.A promotional campaign put into practice by IIC, responsible for local dissemination of the results of CIVITAS CARAVEL in Genoa, through newspapers and local radio and TV stations, is accompanying these activities.
The elaboration of the operational plan for the expansion and the improvement of the car sharing service in Genoa is in its completion phase.In the meanwhile, the design of the foreseen expansion of the car sharing service to the CIVITAS areas of the central and eastern part of the city is ongoing. Five new car sharing parking places have been launched: “Via Fanti d’Italia”, near the railway station “Piazza Principe”, “Piazza Carloforte”, near the central area of the city and “Piazza Solari”, “Piazza Terralba” and “Corso Sardegna” located in the “San Fruttuoso” area, an important target area of CARAVEL project.Visit CIVITAS CARAVEL Genoa website
