Knowledge exchange on hybrid bus in Gent

On 31 March 2009, a delegation of the public transport company LPP (Ljubljanski Potniski Promet D.O.O.) visited the Public Transport Company De Lijn in Gent to inspect their brand new hybrid bus. The three representatives were impressed by the results and driving style of this new articulated hybrid bus. The representatives from LPP came to Gent to exchange knowledge on hybrid vehicles and to see if they could use the experience of De Lijn for their future purchases. LPP wants to buy hybrid buses in 2010.

De Lijn has installed this new articulated hybrid bus at the beginning of March in the presence of Flemish Minister of Mobility Kathleen Van Brempt. It was the first vehicle of this kind presented in the Benelux.The representatives from LPP came to Gent to exchange knowledge on hybrid vehicles and to see if they could use the experience of De Lijn for their future purchases. LPP wants to buy hybrid buses in 2010.Measure leader Patrick Debeuf of De Lijn, took the director, the general manager and the sales manager of LPP in tow for a test ride through the city. The delegation of LPP was very impressed by the silent take-off and the smooth driving style, even on the rough cobble stones of Gent. Also the technique simplicity used by the bus constructor made a favorable impression.
