The third edition of MOVE asks cities across Europe to, “follow the CIVITAS Plus lead cities towards 20 -20 -20”. Guest author Ivo Cré examines the measures being implemented by CIVITAS Plus lead cities to meet the EU commitment of using 20 percent of renewable fuels in energy consumption and saving 20 percent in energy use by 2020. The city news section is jam packed with the latest news from the CIVITAS cities. Brighton & Hove is breaking boundaries by introducing talking bus stops around the city, which aid the blind and partially sighted by announcing details of the services due and their destinations. Brescia is promoting its car sharing service, which gives citizens access to a car at any time of the day. Romanian city Craiova is pedestrianising the downtown area at weekends, while Ljubljana is busy testing various hybrid buses to determine which type is suitable for the Slovenian city. Gorna Oryahovitsa is in the process of building a new traffic model that will lead to an increased use of public transport in the city and Bologna is celebrating its sustainability success after coming out on top in a periodical report that deemed it to be the most eco- friendly of the 50 largest Italian cities.The city of Aalborg, Denmark is under the spotlight as the city in profile. Aalborg has an impressive CIVITAS record and was involved in a previous phase of CIVITAS as a member of CIVITAS VIVALDI. The city has successfully implemented an environmental zone in addition to 14 other measures. MOVE 3 also has the latest information on the CIVITAS Forum Conference 2010, which will take place in Swedish city Malmo from 27-29 September 2010.
