European Mobility Week 2007 in Krakow

In Krakow, from September 16th to 22nd, 2007 the European Mobility Week was organized, including a Car Free Day, in order to promote sustainable transport modes and to establish a new mobility culture.

In Krakow, from September 16th to 22nd, 2007 the European Mobility Week was organized, including a Car Free Day, in order to promote sustainable transport modes and to establish a new mobility culture.The Krakow CiViTAS CARAVEL team was widely involved in the organization of several events and exhibitions during this week. The main activities took place on Small Market Square, were people could visit the CiViTAS CARAVEL tent to learn more about the municipal activities to make Krakow’s transport cleaner and better. There were also plenty of competitions with prizes for children.Accompanying to these events in the city centre there were also a bicycle rally, a ancient tram, free to use, and old bicycles exhibitions. Due to a decision of the Deputy Mayor of Krakow, on September 22nd, the European Car Free Day, whole public transport in Krakow was free for car drivers and their families.
