CIVITAS MODERN cities recognised at CIVITAS Forum 2010

At the CIVITAS Forum in Malmo, the cities of Vitoria-Gasteiz and Brescia have obtained awards for their performance in public participation and sustainable mobility, a great success for the entire MODERN project.
Vitoria-Gasteiz came top in the Public Participation category, having succeeded in actively involving their citizens in promoting the new Public Transport scheme. Brescia was recognised as the runner-up in the CIVITAS City of the Year category. Genova won the top award, which recognises the CIVITAS network member which has been most active, responsible and progressive in developing sustainable mobility measures.The prizes were received by the Mayor of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Mr. Patxi Lazcoz and Brescia Site Coordinator Giandomenico Gangi at the CIVITAS Forum Conference 2010 held in Malmo, Sweden.Photo by Mirjam Logonder
