The programme for the CIVITAS Forum 2021 is finally out! Download it to discover what to expect this year from one of Europe's top mobility events!

This 18th edition of the CIVITAS Initiative's flagship event will take place on 20-21 October 2021 in Aachen (Germany), in a hybrid format, giving participants the opportunity to attend either online or in-person.

This year central theme will be "Smart routes towards climate-neutral cities" - a theme which sparks a series of questions. Like, what is the role of mobility and transport in meeting this goal? How do smart mobility and climate-neutral mobility relate to each other? And what support do local authorities require – from the private sector, the European Commission (EC), and each other – to create the smart and climate-neutral cities the world needs?

Through a series of 15 parallel sessions, participants will explore and exchange on these and other urgent and relevant questions, whilst discovering outstanding work from within and beyond the CIVITAS Initiative. These will include standard panel discussions and also more interactive presentations, which give attendees hands-on experience with cutting-edge urban mobility tools.

In addition to parallel sessions, leading transport planners and policymakers from across Europe will address attendees in the Forum's plenary sessions, providing their perspective on the event's central theme. The opening plenary will also be in line with the conference umbrella topic and tackle the EC mission to achieve support, promote and showcase 100 European cities in their systemic transformation towards climate neutrality by 2030.

Site visits will also be organised to provide the perfect opportunity to see why Aachen is a great example to follow when it comes to emission-free policies and solutions.

As is tradition, the winners of the prestigious CIVITAS Awards will be revealed in a lavish ceremony. Do not miss your chance to see Europe's sustainable mobility superstars!

For onsite participants, you will have the opportunity to attend the CIVITAS Forum in the outstanding congress centre 'Das Liebig', a brand new event location in Aachen fully adapted to offer the best conditions for a hybrid event!
