CIVITAS Day (Den CIVITAS) in Brno
The CIVITAS Day 2013 represents one of the highlights of the European Mobility Week in Brno, Czech Republic, and will be held this year on 21 September.
The event is the first CIVITAS Day for CIVITAS 2MOVE2 project and the fifth in the history of Brno’s involvement in the CIVITAS Initiative. Key project leaders, representatives and partners such as the Brno City Municipality and Brno Public Transport Company will all be on hand to unveil the 2MOVE2 initiative and its measures to the public.
The launch will take place at the CIVITAS stand which will be located on Joštova Street, one of the most important public transport interchanges in Brno. Interestingly, this junction is located in front of the Transport Information Centre, one of the measures implemented in the previous CIVITAS ELAN project. Other exciting urban mobility initiatives and safety measures will also be presented at the event.
To its credit, the City of Brno has already been involved in a previous round of CIVITAS Plus within the CIVITAS ELAN project which ran from 2008 to 2012. The new project, CIVITAS 2MOVE2, started in December 2012 and is going strong. Efforts are continuously being made to advance the CIVITAS Initiative and project measures during the European Mobility Weeks. Celebrating the CIVITAS Day in Brno will be an excellent achievement in this respect.
