CIVITAS at Green Streets - chance for cities to go green

CIVITAS Initiative

Local Authorities are invited to participate in Green Street - The challenge of Sustainable Transport to, from and within Cities. The conference will take place from 7 - 8 September at the Committee of the Regions in Brussels.

Millions of European citizens live and work in urban environments making mobility a major challenge for Europe’s cities. Ambitious EU proposals on reducing greenhouse gas emissions add a further layer of complexity to managing and innovatively improving transport mobility. The Green Streets two-day conference will bring together high level speakers, representatives from many of Europe’s regional authorities and EC project leaders. Green Streets will provide a platform to discuss the transport challenges facing Europe’s urban spaces, share best practices, provide practical information about funding sources, suppliers and policy instruments and help to develop greener, more sustainable transport networks fit for the 21st century.CIVITAS will be present at the event and invites interested cities to visit its stand at the conference and to share experiences and ideas with local governments committed to sustainable urban mobility.
