Businesses invited to join SASMOB project's workplace mobility alliance

Mobility map

Looking for new ways to influence mobility behaviour, the City of Szeged (Hungary) has established an alliance on workplace mobility with major employers under the SASMOB project.

Through this pledge, businesses receive tools to co-design and tailor innovative solutions to facilitate sustainable and healthy commuting for their employees. This includes:

  • support in the preparation and implementation of mobility plans (training of mobility managers, design of surveys, selection and implementation of measures);
  • a web-based desktop application helping mobility managers to create and publish surveys, set and monitor mobility-related goals; and,
  • and a mobile application for employees that seeks to motiavte via gamification and rewarding travel-related choices in favour of sustainable modes.

The alliance initially covers 7 employers – public and private, covering different sectors (industry, IT, education, health, public service) and different locations – with a total of over 5000 employees. It is open however: more companies are continuously being invited to join this collaboration for sustainable mobility.   Interested cities and employers will be invited to learn about the experiences at transfer workshops and conferences from Spring 2020 onwards.   For more information, visit the project website and follow the project on facebook.
