Implementing sustainable mobility

The recent acquisition of the Old Port areas has totally changed Trieste's framework. The city now needs to develop a SUMP that ensures these Old Port areas are fully incorporated into the city's overall mobility strategy, along with the New Port.

The SUMP will therefore include the Old Port Area (found in the north of the city) and the New Port area (found in the south of the city)  and their connections with the city centre and existing urban public transport system.

The following topics will be addressed: public Transport, non-motorised transport, intermodality, road transport, urban logistics and accessibility.

The plan will follow an integrated approach, with a high level of participation, cooperation, coordination, and consultation of citizens and stakeholders.
