Summary

Police Scotland operates a CCTV system across the city centre and in some areas on its periphery. This is used for various purposes, such as maintaining public safety, tackling anti-social behaviour, and some automatic number-plate recognition activities.

Implementing sustainable mobility

Currently, Aberdeen City Council and its partners can access the system to give themselves a real-time overview of the transport network's status. This then enables instructions to be issued to direct vehicles away from an incident or overly congested areas during periods of high demand.

This will enable the city centre, the surrounding area, and other locations of strategic importance to be incorporated into future infrastructure and operational arrangements. This is made being possible by system integration and the connectivity that comes with using a common data platform.
